A nature park right on our doorstep!
Howard Springs Nature Park is a great picnic spot in a natural bush setting and you can also cool off in a series of man-made rock pools.
The spring-fed waterhole is great for bird watching and spotting fish and fresh-water turtles. You can even hand-feed barramundi and turtles if you bring along some mullet or squid (no bread please).
Enjoy two walking tracks:
- The Howard Creek Walk is an easy 1.8km, 1 hour walk along the meandering creek.
- The Spring Walk is just 100 metres long and will take you on a short stroll through rain forest to the springs that feed the waterhole.
Park facilities include parking, toilets, picnic area, BBQs, a nature-based playground, rock pools and a toddler pool.
You'll find the nature park located off Howard Springs Road and it is open every day from 7.30am to 7pm. Full park details (including any closures) are available at the NT.gov.au website.
